June 2013

June 2013. This was a great month, and a sad month all in one. Certainly the most memorable. These pictures are out of order, but I think the only people who would notice that are Jason and I! :)

Katie, Jessica, Julie, Zach, Mike and I rode 125 miles from Anchorage to Seward in two days, raising money for colon cancer screening for people in Anchorage. I have not had this much fun in a very long time!

The last few miles of our ride were WET! Somehow, I got the most mud! Working on the BMW points.

Muddy faced girls! Katie, me and Jessica in Seward
Our first fishing experience - Rock fishing and shrimping with Katie, Jessica, Doan, Nick and Zach.

Such a boy, he loves playing in the puddles. Getting our money's worth with the rain gear!

Learning the fishing and hunting regulations... I don't think Jason had such a big smile when he was trying to figure it all out!
The boys did a lot of exploring at all the lakes around town. Kenny had about an 8 minute limit on fishing, and then his attention went elsewhere!

We biked just about everywhere this summer. This was a park near the house. Kenny called it the pirate park.

Big boy helper

By far, all three boys' favorite park. The float plane park. There is sand, water, swings, and most importantly, FLOAT PLANES!!!
We did the Color Run as well (more like the Color Walk for us!). We were worried about the boys even wanting to do it... but it was impossible to find a babysitter, as just about EVERY person in Anchorage was doing the run. Even our babysitter that was pregnant with TWINS did it! Haha. So the boys came along, and had a blast. Cameron was such a good sport, and Kenny loved it. It was a beautiful sunny day. We couldn't have asked for more - we are already planning 2014's Color Run!

We went on a hike that turned out to be much longer than we expected - nearly 5 miles. Kenny was such a trooper! He hiked the whole way! There were a TON of mosquitos, so that kept us moving. This was another beautiful day - almost too hot!

Ice cream treat for his 5 mile hike!

More float plane park action

FISH ON!

The day after the summer solstice, Jason did a suicide fishing run (overnight). This was the sky at 3am. Beautiful!

Shoulder to shoulder fishing

Probably one of our last pictures of Jordan. We miss her every day.
More from my bike ride. The nail was in my back tire at about mile 50. Jason randomly showed up right when we got my tire off, with another tire! Just in time! The boys were our SAG car and camped out with us at Summit Lake. It was a breathtaking ride and campout.

The end of day 1 of our ride - and we were still smiling after all those hills! We must be crazy! They don't call is Summit Lake for nothing!
